BTS
Receives Affiliate Status with ABHE
As
of February, 2006, Birmingham Theological Seminary has become
an “affiliate institution” of the Association for Biblical
Higher Education. ABHE,
formerly known as The Accrediting Association of Bible Colleges,
(AABC) of Orlando.
Florida, is recognized by the US Department of Education as an
accrediting governing body. The “affiliate status” will
now allow BTS to take advantage of the many programs and services
that the Association provides. This presents BTS with the opportunity
of inclusion on the Association website and a listing in the ABHE
Directory, along with the opportunity to network with like institutions,
to gain additional assistance working toward the accreditation
process and access to the consultative services of ABHE.
Logos Bible

BTS students may purchase any of the Logos products at 40% off

Online
Research Database for Pastors and Researchers
Pastors, researchers and theological students/graduates looking
for an online database for theological research can to The Theological
Research Exchange Network (TREN), a searchable library with over
10,000 theological thesis/dissertation titles. Dissertations are
available for order in digital, downloadable e-docs, paper and
microfiche format. There is a charge for each dissertation ordered.
TREN also features hard-to-find resources that researchers will
find helpful. Go to http://www.tren.com/
Standards
For Research Papers
BTS uses the Turabian style of formatting as a standard for all
papers, for all classes. However, students should regard individual
professor's preferences if they communicate any variance in outlining
their requirements for papers. Beyond those variances, students
should follow the Turabian style, as outlined in A
Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations,
by Kate Turabian. Students may also find it helpful to use the StyleEase
formatting software for developing proper citations. An additional
book that BTS students will find helpful is Quality
Research Papers for Students of Religion and Theology.
You may also find helpful the following examples of cover sheets
(either style is acceptable) and papers with proper citations.
These are provided only as examples and should not be used exclusively
as a guide/standard. A
Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations,
by Kate Turabian is the appropriate guide/standard. All examples
are in the Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format:
Support
BTS
BTS offers hundreds of seminary students quality, affordable theological
education. We have been able to continue this work due to the generosity
of many individuals and churches. We rely on this gracious support
because our tuition is one-fifth of the national average (according
to
the National Center for Educational Statistics). Our board of directors
ensures that all funds are carefully used, according to good stewardship
standards. We are a non-profit 501c3, so all donations are fully
